Biography

Matthias van Nispen tot Pannerden (1981), studied Saxophone (classical) at the Brabant Conservatory with  Jean Pennings, Wind Band Conducting with Hardy Mertens and music composition with Kees Schoonenbeek, Alexander Hrisanide, Willem Jeths and Maino Remmers (light music).


At the moment he is appointed as baritone saxophonist in the Royal Dutch Airforce Band. Additionally, he regularly conducts different bands and orchestras.
Matthias writes music for different instrumentations and musical ensembles, with special focus on wind instruments. His compositions are often characterised by light music with cinematic classical influences. A selection of Matthias’ productions may be heard via the following link: www.mvntp.nl

Matthias van Nispen tot Pannerden (1981), studeerde aan het Brabants conservatorium achtereenvolgens klassiek saxofoon bij Jean Pennings, hafa-direktie bij Hardy Mertens en compositie bij Kees Schoonenbeek, Alexander Hrisanide, Willem Jeths en Maino Remmers (lichte muziek).

Tegenwoordig is hij actief als baritonsaxofonist bij het Orkest van de Koninklijke Luchtmacht. Daarnaast dirigeert hij regelmatig op freelance basis. Sinds 2017 is hij assistent-dirigent bij Orkest Zuid. Verder schrijft hij muziek voor diverse bezettingen, met name binnen de blaasmuziek. Zijn composities kenmerken zich vaak door combinaties van lichte muziek met veelal filmische klassieke invloeden. De muziek van Matthias is deels te beluisteren op www.mvntp.nl
