A Small Village in the Great War

A small village wakes up on a promising misty morning. In the distance you hear trumpet signals that indicate that the alarm is being blown. An ominous feeling hangs in the air.
As the village comes to life and the children start playing, the retreating soldiers gradually march past the houses. At the gunshots, the playing children flee in all directions to their homes.
Even more troops march through the village, the trumpeters sounding the retreat. Closely followed by the German occupying army, which instills a lot of fear with its heavy artillery. The villagers keep as much aloof as possible.
After the passage of the troops, it remains relatively quiet in the village and here and there you can hear the underground movement making plans.
When the trumpeters sound the counterattack and a sortie of the Belgian troops takes place, the German army is pushed back. Victory is declared.

Peace returns to the small village and the victims are remembered. Then everything goes back to the way it was before.
