Spectacular and virtuoso work for brassband
The idea of composing something for a spatially arranged brassband originated when the composer traveled to southern Germany in December 2014 to attend the performance of the Sylvester fantasy by the Brass Band Oberschwalben-Allgäu, (Conductor: Ueli Kipfer).
This orchestra gave 2 church concerts, and also played several multi choired works, including Gabrieli's Canzona's, the impressive brass music from around 1600, the Venetian school of multi choir compositions, which was then performed from the balconies of the San Marco Cathedral.

Het idee om een werk voor een ruimtelijk opgestelde brassband kreeg de componist bij een uitvoering van Brass band Oberschwalben-Allgäu. Deze band gaf twee kerkconcerten en speelde onder andere dubbelkorige werken waaronder Gabrieli's Canzona's. De indrukwekkende koperklanken van rond 1600 uit de Venetiaanse school werd rond die tijd van de balustrades van de San Marco Kathedraal te hore gebracht. Marc van Delft maakte er een spectaculaire compositie van.
