Rendering 2 - DaDA Variations - for alto saxophone and mixed choir
When William Raaijman asked me to compose a work for alto saxophone and mixed choir, our interest almost immediately turned to doing something with Kurt Schwitters ' Ursonata. we shared an interest in absurdity and dadaism.
I found a copy of a performance of Kurt Schwitters' work, which I took as a starting point
for the composition. I made something between a composition and a choir arrangement
and I wove a virtuoso saxophone solo through the work.
