African Groove in Brass Band (Fanfare) instrumentation
The vulnerability of our planet and the climate in which we live is being discussed more and more,
and the urgency to take action is growing by the day. As a concerned inhabitant of this planet, I am
convinced that trees are part of the solution. Trees have had an often mythical status in almost all
cultures since ancient times. On every continent, you can find stories about 'trees of life'. The
Baobab in Africa is one of them. A special tree that has proved to be vital to many people and
about which many stories have been written. This piece of music, written for the “Orchestra Royal
Marechaussee”, is a tribute to this special tree, and to all the "trees of life" on earth.
