Incandescence – String Quartet no 3

In many of the reviews of my music and especially of my album "In the Wind" was mentioned neoclassicism. It´s funny, that I had not thought about it myself and only then I realized, that there is a lot about that in many of my works. In this work I decided to bring that neoclassical mood in front. The impression of neoclassicism comes from motoric rhythms and free tonal quality although this, like most of my works, is based on a twelve tone row. "Incandescence" runs a big part in 7/8 time signature. It freshly and brightly mirrors the feeling of spring bursting out and that way continues the narration of "Pictures of Spring Stream - String Quartet no. 1". For many years after composing these two works I considered them too short for such heavily historical and quite pompous subtitle as String Quartet. Such short and fresh masterpiece, like Quartet no. 4 “Musica de Feria” by Silvestre Revueltas, eventually changed my mind.
