Uplifting musical piece about Sleeping Beauty's honeymoon.
Max Rhode (1884 - 1945) is a relatively unknown composer. The German trombone player also arranged many classical pieces for wind band. He has written about 60 composition, of which Dornröschens Brautfahrt (Sleeping Beauty's Honeymoon), written in 1916, is one of the more popular ones, partly because of its use in the popular computer game franchise Roller Coaster Tycoon. This piece is easily adaptable for piano, small ensembles and other settings. This arrangement is scored for a full wind band. In contrast to the uplifting and gentile nature of this composition, the composer himself died as a soldier on the Eastern Front near the end of World War II.
