3 Dances for 2 clarinets, 2 horns and 2 bassoons
This music was inspired by the melodious and rhythmical music from the Balkan region (Romania, former Yugoslavia, Albania).
The first movement is a fast 5/8 in which the division in 2-3 and 3-2 appear simultaneously, which makes it rather more difficult to play than it looks.
The second movement is a slow, dreamy canonic piece in 11/8 on a ostinato bass.
The last movement is a fast dance in several irregular beats that has a whirling finale.
