Waltz for concert band
This waltz is the second movement of the First Suite for concert band by Peter Habraken. Together with the samba (part 3) this waltz was composed in 2023 on behalf of the Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy.
In the original commissioned version it had a special instrumentation: it was written for concert band without saxophones, trumpets and trombones, because it was composed for a special occasion when part of the orchestra was abroad. For this edition, the composer has created a brand new version for full concert band.

The world premiere took place on July 22, 2025, at the Salle de Manège in Hesdin, France, by the Dutch Symphonic Wind Orchestra conducted by Ruud Welle.
