"Mazel tov!"
… is a common Jewish phrase, meaning “congratulations” or “good luck”. It’s used at all sorts of happy events, like birthdays, or when someone gets a new job.
A particular famous example of these happenings is the traditional Jewish wedding:
after the groom breaks a glass, all guests shout “Mazel tov!”.
“Mazel tov” is also a traditional Jewish melody, often played at these occasions. This famous melody inspired composer Peter Habraken to elaborate it into a virtuosic piece of orchestral music, bursting with energy.
This composition is a festive addition to any program, but beware… it’s not an easy piece to perform!
