Comical piece for percussion and whistle (constable) solo
Ode To The Constable is a short composition for percussiongroup with solo-constable-whistle. All parts, exept whistlepartij and timpani pauken, can be doubled.
Ode To The Constable is ment to be a light, comical piece. The solo-constable-whistle part is preferrably played by a percussionist, dressed as a constable of the past: uniform, cap or helmet, epaulettes, maybe a black bike at hand and of course a whistle. Caution: the whisle-part demands a great deal of technical skills and is not easy to perform!
The work was premiered in 2014 by Percussiongroup Crescendo 's Gravenmoer under the baton of drummaster Annejaap van Eersel.
