Dutch Fanfare
In the summer the composer Hans Toebes likes to go on holidays to Italy. Despite
the fact that this country is very beautiful as a whole, the areas Tuscany and Umbria
are his favorite. In the neighborhood of Florence he stayed on a camping site on a hill
(Il Poggetto). It was a wonderful vacation. It inspired him to make this composition.
His starting point was the Italian liberation song ‘ Bella Ciao’, which is sung every
year on Liberation Day (April 25) by the entire Italian population.
This piece of music starts with a wide view over the beautiful Tuscan countryside.
After that it is all joy, in which the classical influence of Baroque Italy can be heard.
