The first performance by Johan Duijck on the 20th of November 2013 in Music Center De Bijloke, Ghent.
The 15th sonata for piano solo is commissioned by Music Center De Bijloke Ghent and composed for pianist, conductor and composer Johan Duijck. This is the first of 4 sonatas dedicated specifically to the site 'De Bijloke'.
Standing in the middle of the central court (which I presumed was formerly a garden, or an orchard) I discovered that, coinciding with the cardinal points, one may obeserve 4 totally different views.
This sonata evokes what what I saw, and felt, looking northwards.
