Henry Kelder (born 1973) works as a pianist, composer, conductor, chamber musician, improviser, rehearsal director, cultural entrepreneur, and teacher. In 2013, three of his major works received their world premieres: Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra, and A Song for Saint Cecilia's Day for Choir and Orchestra, and music theater company VALS. One of his mentors was Tristan Keuris. As a permanent rehearsal director and conductor, Henry Kelder has been affiliated with VocaalLAB Netherlands since 2006. He has worked for De Nederlandse Opera, the Ruhrtriennale, Transparant, LOD, Kameroperahuis, Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, and November Music, among others. He has collaborated with composers such as Steve Reich, Pascal Dusapin, and Martijn Padding; directors such as Pierre Audi and Josse De Pauw; conductors such as Reinbert de Leeuw, Etienne Siebens, Lucas Vis, and Ed Spanjaard; and he has collaborated on numerous world premieres..

In addition to his work as a principal piano teacher at the Utrecht Conservatory and pianist coach at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, Henry Kelder is active in many ensembles. He tours the Netherlands with Andre Heuvelman, and with saxophonist Johan van der Linden he forms Duo Lind'n Kelder. This duo focuses on performing contemporary music with clear accessibility and crossover. Many composers have written for them.

He is also a sought-after accompanist and chamber musician. He is also in demand for his improvisations and arrangements in diverse styles, including classical, jazz, and pop. Since the end of 2011, he has been the founder and artistic director of MatchingArts, an innovative company that promotes the performing arts in the broadest sense. He is the initiator and artistic director of the Keuris Ensemble, the International Alkema Composition Contest, Edition MatchingArts, the Keuris Composers Contest, and the Havikconcert Festival in Amersfoort.

Naast zijn werkzaamheden als hoofdvakdocent piano aan het Utrechts Conservatorium en coach pianist aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium te Den Haag is Henry Kelder aktief binnen vele samenstellingen. Met Andre Heuvelman tourt hij door Nederland en met saxofonist Johan van der Linden vormt hij Duo Lind´n Kelder. Dit duo richt zich op het spelen van hedendaagse muziek met een duidelijke toegankelijkheid en crossover. Vele componisten hebben voor hun geschreven.

Daarnaast is hij een veelgevraagd begeleider en kamermusicus. Hij wordt ook gevraagd om zijn improvisaties, arrangementen in diverse stijlen als klassiek, jazz en pop. Sinds eind 2011 is hij oprichter en artistiek directeur van MatchingArts, een innovatief bedrijf ter exploitatie van podiumkunsten in de breedste zin van het woord. Zo is hij initiatiefnemer en artistiek leider van het Keuris Ensemble, International Alkema Composition Contest, Edition MatchingArts, Keuris Composers Contest en Festival het Havikconcert in Amersfoort.
