Meditation with "Stand-by"

     Meditation with stand-by composed for a special concert in the Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 2005. The concert program consisted of completely Agoshian's music. The work was dedicated to the composer's close friend, famous violin virtuoso Cihat Aşkın. He performed the meditations world premier in the concert in the ITU and he also played it in a special recital in Yerevan (Armenia).

     The work is a sound-picture of a meditation practice with a blinked stand-by led of a CD player. The continuously led motive symbolises a breathing exercise with counting. The motive stands up against other motives which indicates distractive conditions during the meditation. The form of the music is ABA, symbolises a short-term introversive journey of the meditator/composer/performer/audience.
