8 Piano meditations
The Corona Collection is a selection of piano improvisations by Than van Nispen that were scored
to sheet music during the Corona pandemic.
The music pieces have been played between 1999 and 2021.
“As a composer for media I sometimes improvise on the piano and consider those moments as
my musical meditations and focus very much on the present moment. Most of these pieces are
somehow Nature related, for instance ‘an impression of a walk, in rain, in a forest’, or regarding an
environmental (crisis) topic, like pollution, and other environmental impacts.
During the Corona pandemic and lockdowns I found the time and space to translate some of the
improvisations to sheet music.”

The pieces are often not difficult to play, but some of the pieces require a large range with the left
hand to play.
