Zeven Vagantenliederen
Opus 58 - 1995/96 - Marc van Delft
Versie voor koor, piano en mezzosopraan solo

(& ad libitum vrouwenkoor)
==================================
Seven Vagant Songs
Opus 58 - 1995/96 - Marc van Delft
Version for male choir, piano & mezzo-soprano solo

(& ad libitum female choir)
=========================
Originally for concert band (& choir), but it can also be performed with piano accompaniment only.
=============================
Opus 58 is composed in a Neo-Medieval or Neo-Gothic style, much like Orff's Carmina Burana.
=============================
The text of the 7 Vaganten songs is taken from 7 poems from the well-known ‘Carmina Burana’, about the life of the poor medieval students, their wild and rebellious life full of misery, poverty and drinking etc.
========================
Content information about the work can be found in the preface to the Vocal score.
==========================
The MP3 recordings include the version for concert band and choir.
=======================================================
The choir, conductor, soloist (and pianist during rehearsals) use the vocal score, but during the performance, the pianist can use the piano part without the choir (due to the page-turning).
