Concerto for Saxophones and Strings - saxophone quartet and full string ensemble.
Concerto for Saxophones and Strings
The Concerto for Saxophones and Strings was composed immediately after the third saxophone quartet, of which I have used all the basic material. After a recent reassembly of the third quartet, I also re-composed the Concerto.
The piece is a continuous play between the two instrumental colors.
At the end of the work I also added an encore, that was recently composed when I was half awakened by the first spring light streaming through the curtains onto my bed, and of which I have made several versions. Being an encore, you can decide to play it immediately after the general pause, or after the applause or at the end of the concert.
