Born in Lérida (E), the Spanish composer Enrique Granados (1867 - 1916) is today recognised as a leading Spanish composer, thanks to his numerous pieces for piano - including his masterpiece, the 'Goyescas' - but also for symphony orchestra.
Although the cycle of 12 dances reflects very Spanish musical sounds, they are in a romantic aesthetic, each with its own character.
This orchestration for Wind Band is based on the solo piano score of the "Danza No. 1" in G Major.
