As a musician and composer with over 40 years of experience, John Piazza has used his extensive education and talents toward a myriad of accomplishments in the world of music over the course of his
life. His love and appreciation for choral music as well as his faith have always been the foundation of his life.

Piazza’s journey toward becoming a versatile pianist, vocalist, composer, and director of musical groups began early in life. Piazza was born into a musically active family and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. His
childhood in the city afforded him an exposure to a wide range of musical styles, genres, and artists from a young age. His early investment in music in his youth eventually led him to pursue and earn a degree in piano performance at Molloy College in 1983. During his time there, he honed his skills in composition and arrangement; after graduating, he opened a small private music school.
While Piazza has been fortunate enough to make a comfortable livelihood using his abilities as a musician, he has found the greatest fulfillment through working locally and encouraging the musical aptitudes of those around him. From 1973 to 1991, he was the head organist and choir director of both the Immaculate Conception Church in Norwood, NJ and later at the Epiphany Church in Cliffside Park, NJ. Piazza also found an outlet to share his fondness for music through education as a general and instrumental music teacher at the Corpus Christi School in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ.

Currently, Piazza still teaches piano and voice both publicly and privately. His favorite pastime is composing original classical music for piano, organ, and trumpet. He continues to keep music the central passion of his life through his work with his local church as well as projects within his community.
