Eclectic artist, poet, composer, arranger, teacher & musician navigating between styles from ancient music to contemporary music, or jazz and current music, Maël Fauvy is a versatile guitarist giving pride of place to poetic research, to expressiveness, sincerity and musical innovation.

Born in Le Mans in 1992, Maël Fauvy graduated in Music and Musicology, the Higher National Diploma of Professional Musician and the State Diploma of Artistic Teacher, but also in Counterpoint, Bass Continuum, Arrangement and Orchestration, Choir Directing, Harmony, Accompaniment, Analysis and Ancient Music. He has followed the teaching of many great instrumentalists including : Rémi Jousselme, Pablo Marquez, Lorenzo Micheli, Pascale Boquet, Michel Grizard, Gabriel Bianco, Hervé Merlin, Guillem Perez-Quer, Olivier Pelmoine, Florian Larousse, Jeremy Peret, Joaquin Clerch… but also composers such as Atanas Ourkouzounov, Martin Ackerman, Alessandro Solbiati, Arturo Gervasoni…
Creator of the first position of Classical Guitar Accompanist in Brittany at the Fougères Conservatory in 2022, he also teaches classical guitar in Conservatory of Verneuil-sur-Seine.

Resolutely at the servic e of musical renewal and transversality, he has performed with various companies (Les Horizons Déployés, Asterion, etc.) and numerous artists: actors (Cyril Fricaud, Cyrielle Rayet, Marie-Camille Le Baccon), dancers (Anna Delome, Fanny Steinmetz), videographers (Flavio Rumolino), chansigneurs (Clara Thabard, Clémence Colin), visual artists (Chunyu Wang)… In a search for innovation in musical codes and languages, in his compositions as in his work as a performer, he leads artistic projects with numerous ensembles: Trio Carmen, Trio des Horizons Déployés, Amoriensis, Quatuor Asterion, Möte, Les Yeux Verts… and performs regularly on the European music scene.

Maël Fauvy’s work as a composer is imbued with the minimalism of Arvo Pärt, Terry Riley and Steve Reich, but also the work of Luciano Berio in his search for reconciliation.
between traditional music and contemporary music, also seeking inspiration from oral tradition music and literature by combining poetry and narrative and rhetorical research. He composes for various ensembles, from guitar to orchestra to choir, navigating between modal and atonal writing, he also writes educational pieces for various instruments and conducts educational and musicological research.
Having always worked on poetic material, his first published collection of poems (Notre Étreinte Dans Les Poèmes) has been published in 2024 by MFP.
