Biografie

Katy is a conductor, arranger, composer and singer based in Glasgow. Katy is Director of Chapel Music at the University of Glasgow and also conducts Glasgow Madrigirls and Scottish Opera's Community Choir. She is Head of Marketing, and a tutor for Sing for Pleasure and has also tutored/lectured for Scotland Sings, Glasgow University, Aberdeen University and Strathclyde University. 

Katy sings with harmony folk-group Muldoon’s Picnic and with early music ensemble Sang Scule.   

Katy’s arrangements for choir have been published by Sing for Pleasure and Canasg. Recent commissions have included a new carol for Cavendish Singers (2019), Scottish Voices (2019), Lancaster Priory (2018) and for Aberdeen Performing Arts (2018 - for the reopening of the Aberdeen Music Hall). In the last year, Katy has also completed new pieces and arrangements for feature film, documentary sound tracks and radio broadcasts.

Originally from Bolton, Katy studied at the University of Glasgow. She completed her doctoral thesis focusing on seventeenth century Scottish vocal music in 2016.

Katy won the Hands up for Trad Community Teacher of the Year award in 2018.
