Biografie

Jean-Baptiste Chicouène  & Karolina Walesa met in Poland while studying at the Karol Szymanowski Academy in Katowice and formed the Reminiscences Duo.

After a semester of chamber music training with János Bálint (with whom Karolina earned a master's degree in flute) and a year with Marcin Dylla (with whom Jean-Baptiste earned a master's degree in classical guitar), the duo moved to France, where they now live. Their repertoire includes some of the great works of the flute-guitar genre, several arrangements, as well as traditional music, an aesthetic they regularly explore in their musical practice.

The duo has performed in Poland, Italy, and France, won second prize at the Pleven Guitar Festival competition, and was a finalist in the Luigi Nono International Chamber Music Competition. Holders of a state diploma from Cefedem AuRA for Karolina and a certificate of aptitude from the CNSMD of Lyon for Jean-Baptiste, passionate about teaching and lovers of the mountains, the two members of Reminiscences Duo teach at the CRI of Briançonnais, in the Hautes-Alpes.
